Finding joy is your challenge of the week, so let’s get really clear about what joy is and where to find it.
Joy is deeper than happiness. It is a deep contentment that lives in that river-internal place where we can dip our cups and drink from, filling our hearts to bring joy out into the world. But how do we access that place?
In the muck of the daily challenges of life, our joy gets lost sometimes. We all face struggles and traumas, and joy can help us through them, but not if we can’t find it. Luckily, the easiest way to reconnect to joy is just to stop.
Take frequent pauses throughout each day of this week and just take a breath and connect to your inner being. You are full of light and beauty.
Even if only a glimpse at a time, our connection to joy can always come back, because it’s something that can't be taken away from us. Happiness is fleeting, but joy is about who you are on the inside. Joy is always there.
We’re all different, so we have different people, things and places that help us re-connect to our joy. What helps you? Maybe it’s the scent of a flower, or the sound of the ocean, or petting your dog or cat.
In addition to taking meditative pauses, schedule time this week to do and see those things that help you find joy, too. Try it and see what happens.
